Our Story

From Farm to Cup, and Everything in Between

Múcaro Coffees was founded in Miami, FL in 2012 by David J Belmar, a third-generation coffee professional whose story began in the mountains of Adjuntas, Puerto Rico, where his family’s connection to coffee shaped his appreciation for the people and hard work behind every cup.

What began as a passion for roasting has grown into a specialty coffee company guided by three pillars: Great Coffee, Education, and Tech Support.

Today, Múcaro builds direct relationships with producers, carefully roasts every coffee at its Miami facility, supports wholesale partners with equipment and technical service, and helps educate the next generation of coffee professionals.

Through every stage of its growth, the purpose has remained the same: to honor the producer’s work, carry their story forward, and create a cup that reflects the care of everyone involved.

Combining Advanced Technology and Human Expertise

Technology plays an essential role in helping us deliver quality and consistency throughout our process. Before a coffee reaches the roaster, we evaluate its density, moisture content, and screen size to ensure it meets our quality standards.

At the center of our roastery is our Loring S35 Kestrel, which gives us precise control over every roast profile, while our Sovda Pearl Mini uses optical sorting technology to identify and remove beans that do not meet our specifications.

These tools complement the knowledge and experience of our team, allowing us to protect the quality created at origin and ensure that only the best coffee makes it into every bag.
