About This Method

Recipe

Coffee 10000
Water 320g
Water Temperature 200°F (93°C)
Brew Time 3-4 minutes
Grind Size Medium-fine

Tools Needed

  • Pour Over Dripper
  • Compatible Paper Filter
  • Gooseneck Kettle
  • Digital scale & Timer

How to Brew

  1. Heat water to 200°F (93°C). Rinse the filter with hot water to eliminate paper taste and preheat your dripper.
  2. Grind 20g of coffee to a medium-fine consistency, similar to table salt.
  3. Place the ground coffee in the filter and gently shake to level the bed.
  4. Start your timer and pour 40-50ml of water in a circular motion, ensuring all grounds are saturated. Let bloom for 30-45 seconds.
  5. Continue pouring water in slow, steady circles, maintaining the water level and avoiding the sides of the filter.
  6. Pour until you reach 320ml total water. The entire brew should take 3-4 minutes.
  7. Once the dripping stops, remove the dripper and discard the filter.
  8. Swirl the carafe gently to mix the coffee, then pour and enjoy!

Pro Tips

  • Pour steadily and avoid pouring directly onto the paper filter.
  • If the brew drains too quickly and tastes weak, grind finer.
  • If it drains too slowly and tastes bitter or dry, grind coarser.
  • Keep your recipe and technique consistent before changing variables.
  • Pour-over brewing turns preparation into part of the experience. With patience and consistency, it produces a cup that clearly expresses the coffee’s origin, processing, and roast.
